About Mitra

"Where there is healing, there is hope"

Mitra Kahrizi-Rund was born in Tehran, Iran and immigrated to United States at age 15. Her journey to the United States was long and complex, and as a result, she ended up spending time in both Turkey and Austria. Her experiences in Iran, as well as Turkey, Austria, and now the Unites States gave her different perspectives on life.

Having been an immigrant, she expresses a great deal of compassion for fellow immigrants and the losses and gains they incur as a result of their immigration. This had played a large part of her life, and has helped shaped her into the person she is today.

Mitra always had an interest in studying Sociology and Psychology. Her training in Psychology, Social Work, as well as Jewish studies has prepared her to help others and practice clinical work. Looking at an individual in their environment and recommending changes accordingly based on their situation, gives her great pleasure and humility.
